Gevey SIM 2 iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08 Unlock iOS 5.1

If you’re reading this I assume you’re also one of those thousands of people who are locked on iOS 5’s baseband 4.11.08. We’ve been covering almost every news related to iPhone 4′s baseband 4.11.08 unlock some of them were very promising. We also saw some fake reports about this unlock which included crims0n unlock, react0r unlock, Miracle SIM unlock and another mysterious unlock which involved restoration of a special
firmware file and I still don’t know how it got wind. Anyways these are all part unlock cycle so it’s a normal thing to see fake unlocks before the real thing arrives.

Last week we reported that Sherif Hashim, famous baseband hacker and the main guy behind Ultrasn0w unlock pointed that he is indeed working on an unlock solution for all locked basebands on iPhone 4 which also includes baseband 4.11.08. This was good news for people who’re locked on 4.11.08 but there was something else going on in the background just like old times.

[Sherif Hashim, famous baseband hacker] We got some unconfirmed reports from our sources in China that an unlock solution is being manufactured specifically for baseband 4.11.08. No more information or minute details were available on this unlock. We also tried to grab some authentic information and background of the manufacturer. Again, we got some unconfirmed reports this Sunday that Gevey is working on a possible unlock for iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08, but earlier this morning it was confirmed by our sources that Gevey is indeed working on an unlock for unlock for iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08 . gavei sim also announced it publicly that their team is working on a hardware unlock just like they did back in February/March for baseband 4.10.01 and other basebands.

[Gevey SIM 2 iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08]

So Gevey it is folk, there are no details regarding the availability of this unlock but it’s not that far people. Gevey would release an interposer SIM just like Gevey Ultra to unlock iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08 and this is not all the information we have. When asked about the price our source said that it would cost around $49 initially which is not bad at all.

Now there are couple of things which you should know about this unlock. Apple is planning to release a minor iOS 5.0.2 or a major iOS 5.1 update very soon. We already told you that iOS 5.1 has a higher baseband 4.12 which is still not unlockable. Gevey SIM is not going to work on Apple upcoming iOS 5.1 update so please do not update your iPhone to Apple’s upcoming iOS 5.0.2 or iOS 5.1 update. Otherwise you will have to wait a lot for next unlock.

Full Signal Bar but No Carrier Name Fix when Using GPP SIM Unlock for iPhone 4S

If you’re an iPhone 4S user who’s been using GPP SIM to unlock your iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0.1 or 5.0, you may encounter this issue whereby you get a full signal bar but no carrier name is being displayed.

GPP SIM is another SIM interposer device similar to Gevey Ultra S developed by GPP Team in China to unlock iPhone 4S on baseband 1.0.11, 1.0.13 and 1.0.14. It also provides untethered unlock for iPhone 4S without the need to jailbreak.
I was experimenting with a couple of things today with an AT&T locked iPhone 4S and at one point, I had to reboot the iPhone. However, after the phone rebooted, it was stuck on ‘Searching’. When I checked under Settings, I was able to see that China Mobile was already showing as the carrier.
After toggling the Airplane Mode, it was showing full signal bars but no carrier name was showing. When I tried to make a call to another test phone, I can’t hear anything from the earpiece but that test phone was showing my incoming call. I sent out a text message, the other phone received it but the 4S was stuck on sending out text message status.
I tried to reset network settings countless of times and also tried to reset all settings twice but to no avail. I didn’t attempt to do a full restore because there’s no way to keep the current iOS 5.0.1 as Apple is no longer signing this iOS version. By updating it to iOS 5.1 it will render this iPhone useless. A quick search on Google returned this result which is widely discussed on Apple’s forum. Apparently this seems to be a bug with iOS 5.0.1 and many believe that it has been resolved in iOS 5.1. I also switched SIM cards but nothing worked.
OK, let’s cut to the chase. How did I fix this? Thankfully it’s pretty easy.
  1. Reboot the iPhone 4S.
  2. As soon as it boots up it will immediately start searching for the network.
  3. Wait for a couple of minutes. Just make sure that it’s still on ‘Searching’ mode.
  4. Toggle Airplane Mode and you will see full signal bar but no carrier name.
  5. Go to Settings > General > Network and turn on Cellular Data Network. That’s it! Your carrier name will show up immediately and you can start making calls again.
This is probably too trivial but I shouldn’t have jumped into conclusions and start troubleshooting without trying the basic steps first. My bad. I hope this will help all GPP SIM users out there.

Fix iMessage on Hacktivated/Jailbroken iPhone 4 or 3GS Running iOS 5.1

Fancy to use iOS 5.1′s iMessage but can’t get it to work on your hacktivated and jailbroken iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS? Try these simple fixes below which have been proven to help many.

Before you begin, just make sure that you have jailbroken your iPhone 4 or 3GS, then simply follow these instructions below.

1. Launch Cydia and add the URL below to your source:

repo.bingner.com

2. Once added, install SAM (Subscribers Artifical Module) and SAMpref (preference).

3. Launch SAMpref and Click “Revert Lockdownd to Stock” in Settings > SAM (this deactivates your hacktivation).

4. Go to Settings > SAM and tap on “De-Activate iPhone.”

5. Connect your iPhone to iTunes to activate it.

6. If you already have iPusher app installed, remove it now.

7. Go to Settings > SAM > Utilities > tap on “Backup Activation” and then followed by “Restore Activation.”

8. Reboot your iPhone and then sync it with iTunes. If you’re on iOS 5.1, remember the jailbreak is tethered! Be sure to have redsn0w handy.

Note: If you can’t get passed iTunes activation – Check if “Hacktivation” in SAM is on, then take a look at the text underneath it on what you have to do; then turn “Hacktivation” off and connect to iTunes again.

9. Install free iPusher App from here.

10. Reboot your iPhone and then sync it with iTunes. Make sure your iPhone is connected to a WiFi that has an active internet connection.

11. Open iPusher app and tap on Test Push Notifications button. If your Push Notifications are working fine, you will see a pop-up saying:

Yay, push notifications work fine!

12. Turn off iMessage.

13. Reboot iPhone (remember it’s tethered!).

14. Turn on iMessage.

That’s all to it! It seems long winded but if you follow each step carefully, you’ll get iMessage working on your iPhone by now.

Does it work for you?

How to Fix iPhone 3GS Keeps Restarting Itself Every 2 Minutes after iOS 5.0.1 Update

Are you experiencing this weird issue after updating your iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.0.1? For some reason it has nothing to do with the hardware. Read how to fix it below.

What’s the deal with this problem anyway? See the email below which we received from a customer to understand better:
“It was fine when I was using iOS 5, but it started restarting itself every 2 minutes after a few weeks of iOS 5.0.1. I restored it as a new iPhone and started from the scratch a few days ago, but this morning when I turned on my phone after switching it off for the night, it started doing the every-2-minute-must-restart thing. Help me before I smash the phone into pieces!”
Thankfully, there’s a quick and easy fix to this issue. Try these 3 steps fix below:
1. Eject or remove the SIM card from your iPhone.
2. Go to Settings > General > Network and enable 3G and Cellular Data (or toggle these if they are already enabled)
3. Insert your SIM card again.
Done! The problem should be fixed by now.
If the above didn’t fix this issue, try to do a full restore and set it up as a new iPhone. Remember to use custom firmware to preserve your baseband if you rely on an unlock.
I’m not sure if this is affecting iOS 5.1 but hopefully this “bug” had been fixed. If your iPhone 3GS reboots itself every 2-3 minutes after you tried flashing it with an iPad baseband, this is definitely a hardware issue. You can try the fix here.

First Look at Resistance: Burning Skies Story Trailer

With Resistance: Burning Skies marching steadily towards its May 29th release date on PS Vita, you may have been wondering who Tom Riley is and where his story fits into the grand scheme of the Resistance universe. Today we’re clearing up that question with a new story trailer you can watch right now!

Resistance: Burning Skies is, at its core, a story about an everyday hero becoming a legend. On August 15th, 1951, New York City fireman Tom Riley is called away during a seemingly routine fire call and finds himself thrust into the midst of the brutal Chimeran invasion (Resistance 2 fans: this parallels the period when Nathan Hale returns from Europe). Riley is possessed with a singular determination to find his wife and child, but along the way he’ll be embroiled in a far larger conflict that will determine the fate of New York and leave him a key inspirational hero of the Resistance.

For those of you watching closely, there were a couple other little tidbits revealed in that trailer, including new weapons and enemies. You’re also introduced to the Executioner, a hulking Chimeran monstrosity that boasts a powerful cannon for an arm. Needless to say, the Executor definitely won’t go down as easily as your standard Hybrid. You also caught a glimpse of the potent Hunter rifle, a Chimeran burst-fire carbine that is the predecessor to the Marksman from Resistance 3. The Hunter also packs a surprise in the form of its secondary attack, which fires an offensive drone that attacks nearby enemies — you can direct it to the left and right using PS Vita’s front touchscreen.

Let us know what you think of the trailer in the comments! And stay tuned: In April we’ll be answering your most burning questions about Resistance: Burning Skies — first details on the multiplayer mode!

Build Sn0wbreeze 2.9.3 Custom Firmware to Jailbreak and Unlock iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.1

Updated your iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 with baseband 5.16.05 and need to unlock it? There’s still hope if you don’t mind using the dreaded iPad baseband 6.15.00.

Currently, the jailbreak for iOS 5.1 is tethered (except if you have an old bootrom), which means you will need to use a computer to boot up your iPhone 3GS. There’s no unlock for modem firmware or baseband 5.16.05. To be precise, there’s no ultrasn0w unlock since baseband 5.14.02.
If you really need to unlock your iPhone 3GS it’s still possible to do so by flashing it with iPad’s baseband 6.15.00. However, it’s extremely important that you read and understand the following:
  • This is an iPad baseband which will break your GPS.
  • More risks here .
  • If you have the new iPhone 3GS 8GB made after week 28 of 2011, you must read this or you will permanently break your iPhone.
  • If you don’t fancy 6.15.00 consider downgrading your chip.
  • This guide is for Windows only because sn0wbreeze is not supported on Mac. Mac users can download the ready made custom firmware below (step 9).
Did you read and understand all the risks? Final warning: Proceed at your own risks!
IMPORTANT: Make sure that your iPhone 3GS is fully charged before you begin.
Steps:
1. Backup your contacts, photos, apps etc. Remove your SIM card. (FYI: If you made a backup on the latest iOS, you won’t be able to restore it if you’re running on an earlier iOS version.)
2. Download iOS 5.1 firmware for iPhone 3GS directly from Apple.
3. Download Snowbreeze 2.9.3 from .
4. Launch sn0wbreeze and click on the blue arrow at the bottom right corner.
5. Browse for the firmware you just downloaded in step (2). Click next.
6. Select your Bootrom type. If you’re not sure, sn0wbreeze can detect it for you. IPSW is verified and click the blue arrow to continue.
7. Select Expert Mode. Click General and hit next. It’s very likely that you don’t have the official SIM card so check ‘Activate The iPhone [Hacktivate] Hit next.
8. If you really sure of installing iPad baseband, check ‘Install 06.15.00 iPad Baseband.’ (ARE YOU REALLY SURE?!)
9. Click Build IPSW and hit next. Wait until the custom firmware is ready. Once done, you should find it on your desktop with the file name:sn0wbreeze_iPhone_3GS-5.1-9B176.ipsw you can also download it here

10. Before restoring, ‘pawn’ DFU your iPhone to allow it to accept custom firmware. Otherwise, you will get error 16xxx. Sn0wbreeze will guide you how to pawn DFU your iPhone using iREB or just search on YouTube.
11. Launch iTunes 10.6, press shift on your keyboard and then click on Restore. Point it to the custom firmware on your desktop. Wait until the restore is complete. Your iPhone will boot up and you’re ready to unlock it once you’ve gone through the setup process. Just to be sure, go to Settings, General, About and check that your Modem Firmware (baseband) should show 6.15.00.
At posting time, the latest ultrasn0w is not yet supported on iOS 5.1. You must intall an ultrasn0w fixer patch first.
12. If you’ve installed ultrasn0w, remove it now.
13. Launch Cydia.
14. Add the following to your source:http://repo.iparelhos.com
15. Tap on the iParelhos repo to see Ultrasn0w Fixer utility. Tap install to begin installation.
16. Once installation is complete, we need to install ultrasn0w. Launch Cydia.
17. Search for ultrasn0w on Packages in Cydia. If you cannot find it, add new sources by typing ultrasn0w repo:repo666.ultrasn0w.com (with zero, not o).
18. Install Ultrasnow 1.2.5.
19. Reboot your iPhone. Just in case it’s stuck on Apple logo, run again, go to Extras > Just Boot. Follow on screen instructions.
20. Turn off 3G and insert your SIM card. It should pick up your carrier signal.
Common Issues:
  • If you get an iTunes error 3194, on how to fix it.
  • Stuck on loading bar during reboot? This is because the boot is tethered.go to Extras then Just Boot.
  • In any case if you get error 1015 and recovery loop on the iPhone, this can be resolved using the “Exit Recovery” button using TinyUmbrella.
  • Phone isn’t activated? You missed step (7).
  • Stuck on Apple logo after reboot? This is because the boot is tethered.Go to Extras then Just Boot.

Where to buy cheap R4i Gold R4 3DS Card

The R4i Gold 3DS is possibly the best R4 3DS card on the market today. This is mainly due to the fact that it’s official supported by the R4 Wood firmware. There are plenty of R4 cards for 3DS on the market today, but few of them are getting constant firmware updates and support due to the fact they are small factories cashing in on the R4 3DS name. This is why we decided to stock the R4i Gold 3DS cards as they are one of the few to be officially supported by the R4 Wood firmware which really does make these cards have longevity and support. We here at ModSupplier.Com really do recommend you buy a card that is backed by a team offering consistent firmware updates, otherwise you could be looking at having to buy another card 6 to 12 months later as the firmware support has dried up, with the R4i Gold R4 3DS card you can feel confident that the R4 Wood project will continue and you will receive the much needed regular firmware updates as time goes by.
Not only will the R4i Gold 3DS support the latest 3DS firmware version 3.0.0.6 out of the box, but it will also function on the older DSi & DSi XL consoles with the latest firmware 1.4.3, this makes the R4i Gold 3DS a great card to buy whether it be for the 3DS consoles or the older DSi & DSi XL consoles. Note these R4i Gold will also function in the older DS & DS Lite consoles which make them great for people still using the older consoles but know they will upgrade at some stage and want to buy a R4 3DS card that will work in the current console but want something that will work when they upgrade to DSi XL or 3DS. The R4 Wood firmware used on the R4i Gold 3DS is an open source firmware, this means the source code is open to the public and so can be improved upon by lots of people rather than an in-house team from the card manufactures. These days this is a really good thing because it means more heads are working on the firmware updates. The R4 Wood firmware is without a doubt the best firmware being used on R4 3DS cards these days and only a limited number of cards actually use it and even fewer are actually officially supported by this great firmware.
